A family business born in San Diego
PYCEM began as a small business in San Diego, California, in 2009. In 2018, the company became a corporation, opening a new chapter as PYCEM, Inc. Those two dates describe different moments in the same story: the beginning of the business and its later corporate formation. The company remains rooted in a family-owned and operated approach to serving clients.
That background shapes the way we introduce ourselves. Behind a building project there is usually a practical concern, a deadline or an idea that needs to become clearer. Understanding those circumstances matters. We believe the first conversation should help establish what the client needs, what information is available and what an appropriate next step could look like.
PYCEM’s work brings together electrical services, low-voltage systems, solar, BIM, thermography, and design and consulting. The range creates opportunities to consider related questions together. It does not mean every project needs every service. Each assignment should have a purpose and a scope that makes sense for the property, the people involved and the outcome being sought.

Technology with a practical purpose
Our company’s approach emphasizes investment in technology and continuous training. The purpose is practical: to develop knowledge, understand changing tools and bring useful methods to the challenges clients face. New technology is valuable when it helps answer the right question or makes project information easier to understand and coordinate.
BIM is one example of that approach. Drafting, detailing, coordination and prefabrication support can connect information across a project. Thermography offers another perspective by making infrared patterns visible for professional interpretation. Electrical and solar services bring those conversations back to the needs of an actual installation. The connection between tools and purpose is more important than adopting technology for its own sake.
We also recognize that decisions have consequences for resources and the environment. Considering those effects belongs in the discussion of a project. It requires attention to the situation rather than a blanket promise. An energy objective, for example, should be understood in relation to actual use, available information and the conditions of the property.
A photograph, a model or a piece of equipment is only part of the picture. People still need to define the question, share information, evaluate alternatives and agree on responsibilities. We aim to keep those conversations clear, with the client’s objectives and constraints in view.
Our commitment is to you
Engineering challenges are not only technical. A property owner needs to understand the proposed work. A business needs to consider its operations. A project team needs clarity about scope and coordination. PYCEM’s commitment is to approach those needs with personal attention and an interest in a practical solution.
Budget awareness starts with defining what is being considered and what remains uncertain. A clear assignment gives everyone a basis for discussing alternatives, changes and next steps. We do not publish universal prices or savings promises because the right scope depends on the actual project. Instead, we invite you to explain the need and the context behind it.
PYCEM is based at 3065 Beyer Blvd., Suite B 103, San Diego, CA 92154, and primarily serves southern San Diego. Our published office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Pacific Time. Contact us at (619) 271-0110 or pycem@pycem.com to discuss your location and needs.
Whether you have a detailed set of plans or an early question, a conversation can help establish the next step. Explore our services or tell us about your project. Our commitment is to you—and it begins with understanding what you want to achieve.
